Would you move to find love?

Friday, May 11th, 2012

Last week a fellow globetrotting gal pal and I were sitting by the pool in Siem Reap, Cambodia during a 2-week trip to SE Asia. We were comparing notes about our recent dating lives. Or lack thereof. And our frustration at finding a sweetheart who had the means, time and desire to travel, and who had mutual attraction

Three-way Relationship: Yea or Nay?

Wednesday, May 9th, 2012

Background: I’m a big fan of romance novels, all kinds – suspense, comedy, erotic, drama, and all that jazz. Recently, I’ve read a few that revolve around three-person relationships – two men and one woman. I’m not talking love triangles because those are stupid and unnecessarily angsty farces wherein someone’s gotta choose someone else, world without end, amen, and I’m not talking strictly sexual threesomes either; I’m referring to actual bonds (emotional, spiritual, mental, physical, all that good stuff) forged between three (or more) people.

Good Boy Turned Frat Daddy

Saturday, May 5th, 2012

To be in Greek Life at my university, one must sacrifice an entire semester as a pledge. Jay and I pledged in the same semester. He was tall, cute, muscular, caring, and had not only a great sense of humor but also a great personality. While his physical attributes were often hidden under baggy pledge attire and his face was usually cut up and bruised from the brothers, his kind nature remained.

Relationships: Commitment Vs. Obligation

Friday, April 13th, 2012

Everyone says, “Relationships are a commitment.” People recite it like it’s a mantra: relationships take work, relationships require effort, relationships are hard. But are they? When people say that relationships are difficult to maintain, the current relationship they are in usually is muddled with fights, insecurities, and passive aggressiveness.

What’s Wrong with Being a "Slut"?

Monday, March 12th, 2012

I’ve been fascinated by sex ever since I was a kid (who wasn’t?). I remember being exposed to porn and masturbation at a very young age (thanks, Internet!) and reading graphic sex scenes in teen novels (thanks, library?). As an adult, this fascination has translated into a fascination with human interaction and romance and, well, a rather open stance to sexual encounters

Rejoicing In My Singleness

Sunday, March 11th, 2012

I haven’t looked into the Biblical soundness of Mars Hill Church or Mark Driscoll but these two videos, although they’re old, seems pretty right on with what God instructs of us (regarding dating and such- there are a few things that I kinds wonder about but it’s not important to the subject matter). It inspires me to continue to wait until a courageous, confident, and caring man comes along. [This is the longer one but still good: http://marshill.com/media/religionsaves/dating ] I can’t help but think of the guys that have come into and out of my life.
